Kogi residents hail gov Ododo’s first 100 days achievements

Residents of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, have commended Governor Usman Ododo for his achievements during his first 100 days in office.

 

Governor Ododo was sworn into office on January 27, 2024, after winning the off-cycle election held on November 11, 2023, under the All Progressives Congress.

 

PMNews reported that in interviews over the weekend, Lokoja residents praised the governor for his focus on security and the welfare of government workers, citing improvements in these areas.

 

Mrs. Idris Oyiza, a civil servant, applauded the governor for ensuring the prompt and regular payment of workers’ salaries, a significant improvement from the past administration. She also noted improvements in water supply but urged the governor to address the irregular electricity supply from the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company.

 

A businesswoman, Mrs. Suleiman Zainab, acknowledged the governor’s achievements in his first 100 days but called for economic policies and programs to support small and medium entrepreneurs, providing them with loans and incentives to boost the state’s economy.

 

Mr. Ibrahim Abubakar, a commercial motorcyclist, urged the governor to tackle the issue of union officials collecting illegal levies from cyclists.

 

Mrs. Victoria Jagboro, the Provost of the College of Education Technical, Mopa, Kogi, commended Governor Ododo for promoting peace in the state and his commitment to the education sector.

 

Retired Cmd Jerry Omodara, the State Security Adviser, described Governor Ododo as an outstanding leader, highlighting his efforts in improving security and maintaining peace in Kogi State.

 

Mr. Bashiru Gegu, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, congratulated the governor and his deputy, Mr. Joel Oyibo-Salifu, on their first 100 days in office, noting their positive impact on the lives of the residents.

 

Alhaji Danladi Aliyu, the chairman of the state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, commended the governor for addressing the security challenges in the state and for providing motorcycles to local government councils to enhance security.
