Governor Abdullahi Sule and top All Progressives Congress officials rallied support for the party candidates in the upcoming local government elections, scheduled for November 2, 2024.
The governor, who appealed to citizens to vote APC, emphasised the importance of not underestimating other parties. He expressed gratitude for the peaceful primary election process and pledged to refund nomination fees to unsuccessful chairmanship and councillorship aspirants.
Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, joined the governor in urging citizens to support APC candidates, promising to empower women and children through her office. Speaker Danladi Jatau expressed confidence in the party victory, citing the governor’s achievements.
The APC has fielded candidates in all 13 local government areas, including Dr. Idris Damagani in Keffi, Safiyanu Isa in Akwanga, and Ezekiel Musa Jaga in Wamba.
Other prominent APC leaders, including state party chairman Aliyu Bello and former National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, attended the rally, expressing optimism about the party’s chances.
The local government elections will be a key test for the APC’s strength in Nasarawa State. Sule’s administration has focused on people-oriented projects, which may influence voter decisions.
Citizens are expected to cast their ballots for chairmanship and councillorship candidates across the state’s 13 local government areas. The outcome will determine the APC’s control over local governance.
“I want to urge you to come out en masse and vote for APC candidates during the election.
” I appeal to you to vote APC from top to bottom, from bottom to top, from left to right, and right to left,” the governor said.
