The National Leader of the Enforcers of Good Governance and a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, Dr. Kingsley Ogu, has declared his intention to contest the chairmanship position of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area in the forthcoming LGA polls.

Ogu made this declaration at an event marking the conclusion of his ward-to-ward town hall consultation, where he stated, “Be rest assured that we are here to liberate the people. Indeed, you are contesting through me.”

He revealed that his decision to contest came after consulting with stakeholders in the 17 wards and 93 communities of Ogba, Egbema, and Ndoni.

He said, “Having consulted the 67,000 membership base of Enforcers of Good Governance in ONELGA, and having also consulted my family, I, Dr. Kingsley Ogu, the son of a teacher, clearly and formally declare my candidacy for the Chairmanship of Onelga.”

Ogu promised to bring his extensive leadership experience to address the neglect and poor governance in the area, stressing that his aim is to provide a positive outlook on the deteriorating state of infrastructure and basic amenities, especially regarding education and healthcare.

He further pledged to focus on engaging and activating grassroots volunteers and supporters to make a significant positive impact on youths, women, and elders, as well as getting the youths engaged through skill acquisition and creating an enabling environment for greater job opportunities.

Ogu’s declaration was made following calls from elders, women’s groups, and youth bodies in the LGA for him to contest the chairmanship position. He expressed his commitment to correcting the errors of past chairmen and ensuring the development of the LGA.
