The Labour Party’s Lagos State spokesperson, Ife Salako, has launched a scathing attack on Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka for his criticism of Peter Obi and his supporters.
Salako’s response came in a video shared on his X handle, where he accused Soyinka of causing problems in the country instead of resolving them, despite his age.
Salako alleged that Soyinka’s preferred politician has “killers, drug dealers, and thugs” in his camp, adding that Soyinka has a history of promoting cultism, which still plagues the country.
He also made personal attacks on Soyinka, accusing him of using a gun to intimidate others in his youth.
Salako emphasized that the focus should be on improving Nigeria, where businesses are shutting down and people are getting poorer under the current administration.
He dismissed Soyinka’s warning to Peter Obi not to run for president in 2027, saying the country needs leaders who will address its pressing issues.
The exchange highlights the intense political tensions and personal animosities in Nigeria’s political landscape, with Salako and Soyinka representing different political camps and ideologies.
