The Labour Party has disowned the outcome of a stakeholders meeting convened by Abia State Governor Alex Otti in Umuahia.
National Chairman, Julius Abure, on Wednesday, declared the meeting illegal and unconstitutional, urging members to disregard any resolutions from the gathering, according to Daily Post.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, stated that the meeting was not organized by the LP and does not reflect its position or interests.
This move distances the party from the crisis rocking its leadership and asserts Abure’s authority as national chairman.
“The Labour Party disowns the outcome of the Umuahia stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Alex Otti.
“The meeting is illegal and unconstitutional, and we urge our members to disregard any resolutions from this gathering,” the statement added.
