Magnus Abe alleges threats from Amaechi over 2023 Rivers gov election bid

The 2023 governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, has revealed that he received threats from the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, regarding his governorship aspirations.

Abe disclosed that Amaechi warned him that he and his supporters would face hardship if he refused to drop his governorship ambition and return to him.

Speaking at a meeting with his supporters and party faithful at his Freedom House office in Port Harcourt, the All Progressives Congress chieftain recounted how Amaechi visited his house and cautioned him against contesting for the governorship position, predicting that his rebellion would collapse within six months.

“Amaechi announced that the rebellion would not last for six months and that after six months all of us will go hungry and return to him,” Abe said.

Despite the passing of six years and more, Abe pointed out that their rebellion had made an impact, causing a shift in the political landscape.

He urged his supporters to join the APC in Rivers State to support the government of President Bola Tinubu and to align with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he claimed was collaborating with the APC government.
