Money laundering: LP to replace Okupe as Peter Obi’s campaign DG

There are indications that the Labour Party may replace its Director-General of its 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe.

PUNCH METRO on Monday reported that Okupe was convicted by a Federal High Court in Abuja of receiving over N200 million cash from former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki.

Following the development, it’s gathered that talks have begun in the Party to replace the embattled DG.

According to Channels TV, a source who confirmed the development stated that the decision will be jointly taken by all concerned including Okupe himself.

Although he declined to name potential replacements, fillers currently have former presidential aide Akin Oshuntokun in the lead to replace Okupe.
