President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his led administration will prioritize the security of all Nigerians.
He stated this while delivering his speech shortly after his swearing in as the 16th democratically elected president of Nigeria.
“Security shall be the top priority of our administration. We shall reform our security doctrine and architecture, invest more in our security personnel, training and equipment,” he said.
Nigeria has had its share of insecurity over the last two decades. According to Global Terrorism Index, Nigeria has two of the five deadliest terrorist groups in the world, namely; Boko Haram and Fulani extremists.
Also, Nigeria was rated the 3rd worst country with insecurity in the world in 2020 by the Global Terrorism Index, behind Afghanistan and Iraq.
