Niger acting gov leads road walk for fitness, snubs protest

Niger State Acting Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, led principal officers, civil servants, and political appointees on the first edition of the monthly road walk, promoting fitness, mental alertness, and unity, despite nationwide hunger protest.

The walk, which started at the Government House and ended at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, included aerobics and emphasized the importance of exercise for productivity and well-being.

The Acting Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, in his address, said the exercise is to keep them fit, stimulate their mental alertness and to demonstrates unity.

Participants praised the initiative, acknowledging its potential to encourage physical and mental fitness, according to NewsDiary.

The Head of Service, Abubakar Salihu, announced that every first Saturday of the month will be dedicated to the road walk.

The event demonstrated the government’s commitment to the development and well-being of its citizens, fostering interconnectivity among ministries, departments, and agencies.
