The 2023 Vice-Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has expressed the need by Nigerians to reclaim the country from President Bola Tinubu.
Baba-Ahmed who stated this while speaking during an interview on Arise Television, sovereignty and power belong to the people.
The former Senator further maintained that democracy is the right of those who can practice it, noting that the country is a must-reclaim by the citizens.
“Remove the guns from the hands of Nigerians and redirect them against the enemies of Nigeria; Nigeria must reclaim the country!
“Sovereignty and power belong to the people! Democracy is the right of those who can practice it.”
However, Baba-Ahmed also stated during the interview, that showing respect for President Bola Tinubu wouldn’t prevent him from referring to him as a drug dealer.
It would be recalled that there were reports allegedly linking the president to drug-related activities in the United States many years ago.
Meanwhile, there were a lot of petitions against him, about the US alleged drug offence during the just concluded 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and the appeal at the Supreme Court, but the Apex Court refused to make rulings on such matters.
However, Baba-Ahmed who spoke after accompanying his principal, Obi to the Monday’s World Conference in Abuja, said “Showing Tinubu respect does not mean I will not call him a drug dealer.”
