The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nysome Wike, has again, taken a swipe at the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

Wike who made this disclosure while speaking on a Channels Television programme ‘Politics Today,’ on Wednesday, said he owes no one an apology for supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress, and its then candidate, Bola Tinubu in the last February 25 Presidential election, noting that if Obi was the better candidate, Nigerians would have voted him into power.

The immediate former governor of Rivers State who is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, revealed that he supported Tinubu at the expense of his party candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

When he was asked whether Obi would have handled the major issues confronting the Nigerian economy better than Tinubu if he had been elected, Wike said he doesn’t want to discuss presidential candidates anymore, noting that his concerns are on the economy and the President.

“I don’t want to discuss social media issues,” the FCT minister said. “I don’t discuss about presidential candidate any longer; I discuss about the economy, the President, what he has to offer,” he said.

“If he (Obi) would have been better, Nigerians would have voted for him,” Wike added.
