Obi assures youths of contesting 2027 presidential election

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has assured the youths that he will be contesting for the 2027 presidential election.

 

Obi made this known while applauding the Nigerian youths for their support during the 2023 presidential election, while addressing a press conference at the LP National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, assured them that he will endure and persist until he reaches his destination.

 

According to the former Anambra State governor who claimed that Nigeria is the destination, this is not the end, but the beginning of the journey.

 

He however noted that the judgement of the Supreme Court marks the end of his search for justice over the conduct of the 2023 presidential election.

 

The 62-year-old businessman, who was accompanied by his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, did not explicitly state whether he intends to run for President in 2027, but affirmed that the conclusion of the legal battle does not signify the end of his quest for a new Nigeria, said a destination is not an event but a journey.

 

He said, “The energy of Nigerian youths has been amazing.

 

“I want to assure them that this is not the end of our journey but in fact the beginning.

 

“Nigerians heard you, the world has taken note and we will not forget easily. We shall endure, and persist until we reach our destination because new Nigeria is our destination. A destination is not an event.”
