Obi free to meet any politician for Nigeria’s benefit – Ex-Ndigbo spokesman

Former spokesperson for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, has stated that the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, is free to hold meetings with any politician or political entity.

Speaking to Daily Post on Thursday, following Obi’s visit to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Ibegbu emphasized that any meeting aimed at improving the country is welcome.

“Peter Obi is free to hold meetings with any political entity as long as it is for the betterment of Nigeria,” Ibegbu said.

Ibegbu also addressed the recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Minister of Works, David Umahi. He noted that it is the Nigerian people who will ultimately determine the country’s political future.

He further urged Igbo political leaders to act in a way that reflects the interests of their people. “As for the endorsements of Tinubu by Orji Kalu and Umahi, well, it is their right to take their positions, but it is the Nigerian people who will determine their political future in the years to come,” he stated.

Ibegbu added, “Besides, the political integrity and dignity of Ndigbo can only be taken seriously when their leading political actors speak and act in a manner that reflects the interests of their people.”
