The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission has postponed the elections for the 18 Local Governments and 33 Local Council Development Areas in the state indefinitely.
The indefinite postponement was announced by the Chairman of ODIEC, Dr. Joseph Aremo, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, the state capital.
Recall that the election was earlier rescheduled to be held on July 13.
According to the commission, no political party in the state submitted nominations for the election which was scheduled to hold this Saturday, 13th of July, 2024.
The election he said, is postponed indefinitely.
