The Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, has dismissed speculations that the revered monarch, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away.
Speaking to journalists on Monday evening, Ayoade assured the public that the Olubadan is in good health and remains in Ibadan, contrary to widespread rumours suggesting otherwise.
“By the time I left the palace around 8 pm, everything was in order. There was no crisis, and when I later made inquiries, I was informed that Baba is hale and healthy,” Ayoade said.
He also refuted claims that the monarch had been flown out of the city for medical care, insisting that such reports were unfounded.
“The Olubadan just finished eating amala. He is hale and hearty. It is all just a rumour,” he stated.
Reaffirming that the traditional ruler remains in Ibadan, Ayoade urged the public to disregard the misinformation.
“Baba was not flown anywhere. He is doing very fine,” he affirmed.
