The Peoples Democratic Party has presented a unified front as members intensify efforts to secure victory for its candidate, Agboola Ajayi, in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election set for Saturday.
To strengthen party confidence, Ondo State PDP stakeholders have passed a vote of confidence in the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, recognizing his leadership, particularly in rallying support for Ajayi.
This resolution followed a meeting of key party figures, including Executive Council members and leaders across various levels, held in Oka Akoko over the weekend. The stakeholders urged all PDP members statewide to stay united and committed to Ajayi’s success in the election.
The resolution was signed by Ward Chairman Adeloye Adeniyi; Vice Chairman Ademola Samuel; Secretary Kareem Ibrahim; Legal Adviser Olotu Augustine; Woman Leader Afolabi Helen; Youth Leader Aaron Sunday; Auditor Olagbe Abayomi; Financial Secretary Ehinmabaje Joseph; Treasurer Amuda Sehinde; and Local Government Youth Leader Ajisafe Samuel, along with other stakeholders.
The group resolved to “intensify efforts individually and collectively towards the victory of the PDP and its Candidate, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, in the November 16, 2024, governorship election.”
They also commended elected officers throughout Ondo State for their commitment to the unity, stability, growth, and success of the party, especially in the lead-up to Saturday’s poll.
The stakeholders particularly highlighted Hon. Debo Ologunagba’s work as National Publicity Secretary, lauding his contributions and unanimously passing a vote of confidence in him as the highest-ranking party officer from Ondo State.
They noted his “outstanding leadership roles at the ward and other levels of the party in the state” and praised his performance as the PDP’s national spokesperson.
Confident in Ajayi’s chances, the Ward Executive urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure the election is conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner.
