Ondo poll: Ex-SSG predicts landslide victory for Aiyedatiwa

A prominent All Progressives Congress figure in Ondo State, Oladunni Odu, has expressed strong confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the APC candidate, will emerge victorious in Saturday’s governorship election.

Odu, who made history as the first female Secretary to the State Government during Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration, shared her optimism with the News Agency of Nigeria in Okitipupa.

She stated that Ondo’s electorate would likely vote to keep the state aligned with the APC-led government at the center.

Odu highlighted that the APC’s women’s forum in the state has mobilized significant support for Aiyedatiwa ahead of the election.

“In Nigeria today, women play an active role in participatory democracy and serve as strong supporters within their homes. The APC women in the state have canvassed for the party in their homes and communities. The women population is always larger, so their support will significantly boost APC’s victory margin in the off-cycle governorship election,” Odu remarked.

She dismissed the possibility of opposition parties securing a win, asserting, “None of them has the leverage of APC.”

Odu noted that the APC has established a robust foundation for Ondo State’s economic development and political stability under the late Akeredolu. She added that Aiyedatiwa, as his successor, has continued in the same path of progress.

Appealing to Ondo’s voters, Odu encouraged the electorate to turn out in large numbers and cast their votes for APC, emphasizing that this would allow the government to build on its achievements and continue driving progress in the state.
