There are indications former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, may be joining the All Progressives Congress after he resigned his membership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
The former minister, in a letter to APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, described his feat at the party’s presidential primary as a victory for the push for a Southern presidency.
He said, “Your (Tinubu’s) victory is a clear indication of the live and trusts the rank and the file of the APC have in your ability and capability to lead them to victory at the polls in 2023.”
Orubebe commended the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), for his role in the emergence of Tinubu which he described as impartial and selfless. He also also applauded the stand of 14 Northern Progressives Governors who advocated for a Southern presidency.
“The Governor’s love for Nigeria is exhibited by their show of commitment that power should shift to the South is highly commendable and went a long way in dousing the tension occasioned by the possibility of having the major parties fielding Northern candidates.
“I salute them for their promotion of equity, fairness, justice and love for our dear country,” he added
