Oshiomhole stressed that he aims to set Nigeria on the path of greatness, adding that the issue of poverty, insecurity and unemployment are interrelated, saying one does not have to be a professor to know poverty, unemployment breeds insecurity.

“I want Nigeria to be described as the smartest country on the continent under my presidency.”

“I want to declare that I will do everything possible to engage not just ASUU, but all stakeholders to ensure the academic calendar is maintained,” Oshiomhole said.

As the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) prepares to vacate office on May 29, 2023, other aspirants gunning for his position in the APC include APC aspirants including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Transportation Minister – Rotimi Amaechi.

Others include Senator Rochas Okorocha, ex-Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the Minister of Labour Chris Ngige, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, amongst others.
