A prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Akinyemi Akinlabi, has endorsed the appointment of Alhaji Olayide Abas as the Acting State Chairman of the party.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, Akinlabi characterized Abas’s elevation as a divinely guided decision.
He emphasized that Abas, who was previously the Deputy State Chairman, was selected not by his own expectation but through recognition of his extensive service and dedication to the party, according to Nigerian Tribune.
Akinlabi highlighted Abas’s integrity, loyalty, and discipline as key factors that influenced his ratification.
He praised Abas’s ability to earn the trust and respect of party leaders and members, asserting that these attributes made him an ideal candidate for the role.
The APC chieftain also commended the party leadership for following its constitution during the transition process, which he said ensured a smooth and principled change in leadership.
Akinlabi expressed confidence that Abas’s tenure would foster unity and strengthen the party.
He called on all factions within the APC to support Abas and work collaboratively under his leadership, urging members to overcome differences for the collective benefit of the party.
Akinlabi concluded with optimism, predicting that Abas’s appointment would mark the beginning of a new phase of progress and development for the APC in Oyo State.
