The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu, has returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom amid the defection rumours of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
Ayu returned amid speculations that Wike may dump the PDP over the fallout of the party’s presidential primary and the refusal of the party’s presidential standard-bearer, Atiku Abubakar, to pick him as his running mate.
Ayu arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Friday. He had jetted out of Nigeria on June 21 after the busy party primaries.
Whilst away, there were rumours that Ayu was suspended by the National Working Committee but they reports were debunked.
