Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, has announced that PDP governors will intervene to resolve the ongoing crisis within the party.
Mohammed made this pledge while hosting North-east stakeholders of the party, led by Ambassador Umar Damagum, at the Government House in Bauchi on Friday. The meeting aimed to address the suspension crisis in the national working committee and other internal disputes, according to NaijaNews.
The governor emphasized the need to resolve all legal disputes and unite the party to ensure PDP’s victory in the 2027 federal elections. Mohammed expressed gratitude to Damagum and the regional stakeholders for their support and promised to live up to expectations.
Damagum assured Mohammed of the PDP leadership and members’ backing in the Northeast to continue leading the Governors’ Forum. He expressed optimism that the party would resolve pending issues before the next general elections.
The PDP has been working to strengthen its position and present a united front ahead of the 2027 elections. The governors’ intervention aims to resolve internal conflicts and refocus the party’s mission.
This development highlights the PDP’s efforts to address internal challenges and reclaim power at the federal level. With the governors’ intervention, the party seeks to overcome its current crisis and emerge stronger.
“PDP is the only surviving party in the country, and we will re-organise ourselves to be strong to take over the affairs of the country,” Damagun said.
