The People’s Democratic Party has officially validated the Benue State Congress, which took place on October 3, 2024, in Makurdi, and elected Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji as the new State Chairman.
This development was confirmed by the National Working Committee of the PDP, who sent a letter of approval to the Benue State chapter, signed by National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature.
In the letter, the NWC congratulated Adaji and the newly elected State Executive Committee, expressing optimism that they will successfully steer the party’s affairs in the state.
As stated in the letter, “Following the successful conduct of the state congress of our party in Benue State on Thursday, October 03, 2024, for the purpose of electing new State Executive Committee Members, the National Working Committee of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, after giving careful consideration to the reports of the Electoral Committee and the Appeal Panel, has, on behalf of the National Executive Committee of the party, approved the State Congress and the Executive Committee members who emerged therefrom.”
The letter further stated, “Accordingly, I hereby forward to you the authentic list of the newly elected State Executives for Benue State as attached herein. These shall be the new State Exco members in Benue State and shall hold office for a period of four (4) years pursuant to Section 47(1) of our Party’s Constitution, 2017 as amended.”
The approved executive members include 38 other officials who will work alongside Adaji to drive the party’s success in the state. The validation of the Benue State Congress and the election of the new State Executive Committee marks a significant milestone for the PDP in the state, and the party is confident that the new leadership will propel the party to future successes.
The National Organizing Secretary’s letter underscored the party’s optimism in the new leadership, saying, “We congratulate the Ezekiel Adaji-led State Executive Committee and express our optimism that the new party officials in the state will steer its affairs to future successes.”
