The leader of the INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church in Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that the Governor of Adamawa State, Adamu Umaru Fintiri, will not support the governorship ambitions of Adamu Abubakar, the son of the Waziri Adamawa and a key figure in the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
The religious leader foresees a deepening feud between Fintiri and the former political godfather of Adamawa, with Fintiri unlikely to back Atiku Abubakar’s candidate for the state’s governorship race.
He warned that the PDP could lose several governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress, or those remaining in the PDP may not fully support the party’s candidates.
The prophet also noted that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, still maintains significant influence over several PDP governors.
In a broader political forecast, the spiritual leader expressed doubts about the PDP’s ability to challenge the APC in the upcoming presidential election.
He indicated that the PDP is in a vulnerable position and under a metaphorical spell. He stated that the APC has strategically weakened the PDP, leaving the party’s future uncertain and far from reclaiming power.
He said, “Adamu Atiku, Fintiri will not support your ambition. If care is not taken PDP will lose most of its governors to APC. Or if they are in PDP, they will not work for PDP candidates.
“Meanwhile Wike still has a major influence on some PDP governors.”
Ayodele disclosed that PDP alone would not be able to take power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that PDP is under a spell. He also said that APC has scattered PDP. “PDP future is shaking, to get the presidency again is shaking. APC has scattered PDP. They have strategically brought PDP to its knees. PDP alone cannot wrestle power from APC. They are far far from it. Meanwhile there is a spell on PDP.,” He said.
