The presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, as well as his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, have warned the residents of Lagos not to vote for ‘broom’, ‘umbrella’ but vote for ‘human being’.
He said this during his presidential campaign rally which held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos on Saturday.
Obi used these emblems of the ‘broom’ and ‘umbrella’ to describe the All Progressive Congress and the Peoples Democratic party respectively, urging the people to rather vote for the LP come February 25 polls.
He said, “You voted for PDP, the umbrella leaked and out you into poverty; you voted for broom, they swept you into poverty.
“When they came into office 65 million people were in absolute poverty, today they are 95, so it has worsened.
“You have voted for umbrella, it didn’t work, you voted for broom, it didn’t work, we now want you to vote for human being. Go and vote for mama, papa, pikin.”
