The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has hailed Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, over his commitment to re-energize the Geometric Power facility in the state, Aba Integrated Power Project.
Obi who stated this via a post on his X handle on Monday, said the project is a landmark project, hoping to catalyze the development in Aba, and its environs.
The former Governor of Anambra who expressed joy over the completion of the project, noted that he followed the stages of the facility from its inception, as the Chairman of one of the biggest commercial banks in the country 20 years ago.
However, the LP leader said it was reported that the IPP is the largest and first independent and integrated power utility in Nigeria when it is operated at full capacity, adding that it will address the issue of electricity in 9 out of 17 Local Government areas of the state.
He further commended a former Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji and his team, for their resilience spirits which pushed the project to success.
