Peter Obi travels to understudy Egypt’s power sector, others

Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has flown out of the country to understudy Egypt’s power sector, education and finance sector.

In a statement on his verified Twitter handle, Obi announced that he would be in the African country for three days.

He said, “I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria. In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors. -PO”

Premium Politics reported that Obi will be contesting to succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.) against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, who are the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, respectively.

This publication reported that Tinubu emerged as APC’s candidate by polling a massive 1271 votes to defeat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Obi emerged LP’s candidate after recently decamping from the opposition PDP where he lost the primary to Atiku who won the party’s ticket.
