The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday presented Certificates of Return to three Senators and 15 Members of the House of Representatives following the recent bye/rerun elections held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.
The certificates of return were presented to the newly elected Senators and Members of the House of Representatives at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.
On Tuesday, the INEC national commissioner and chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, had disclosed in a statement released in Abuja that the presentation of the certificates to the State House of Assembly members-elect will be conducted by the resident electoral commissioners in the respective states where the bye-elections or re-run elections took place.
Olumekun said seven political parties; Action Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, All Progressive Grand Alliance, Labour Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party, Peoples Democratic Party and the Young Progressive Party won seats in both the National and State Houses of Assembly.
