The newly appointed Nigerian Chief of Air staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has assumed the position on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
Following a recent announcement of the retirement and replacement of service chiefs by President Bola Tinubu, Abubakar was considered as the man who was fits the position.
However, he becomes the 22nd Chief of Air Staff, taking up the mantle in a formal ceremony on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oludayo Amao, celebrated the achievements and success of his term despite notable challenges, while holding the post.
Amao, In his departing message, encouraged his successor to aim for greater accomplishments. He urged Abubakar to lead the service to new heights during his tenure.
However, revealed that he would miss the force, noting that whatever has a beginning must have an end.
