As the Governornship and the State House of Assembly poll draw closer, the candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria, Peter Obi has visited his supporters, known as the OBIdients family, in Jos, Plateau State, today, and urged them to vote for the party’s candidates in the coming Governorship and the State House of Assembly election in the state.
The former governor of Anambra State, participated in the keenly contested Saturday February 25, 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
Mr Obi, who came third in the election, Polled a total votes of 6,101,533 while Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, came second with a score of 6,928,520.
However, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was declared winner of the election and also received his certificate of return as the President-elect, with a total votes of 8,794,726 in the election.
Meanwhile, Obi and Atiku have since rejected the outcome of the election, stating that INEC was compromised, and they promised to seek legal redress to recover their ‘stolen mandate.’
Therefore, Obi visited his supporters in Jos, to appreciate them for their continuous support and also urged them to vote for the party’s candidates in the coming Governorship and State House of Assembly election.
Mr Obi, who made this known through his Twitter handle today, twitted, “I have just arrived in Jos to thank the OBIdients, and urge them to come out enmasse to support LP candidates. I use Patrick Dakum, our Governorship candidate as my point of contact in wishing the State Assembly candidates a great success on 18th March.”
