The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to the family of Nabeeha Al-Kadriya.
Obi on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, visited the al-Kadriyar family, whose six daughters were abducted by unknown persons on January 2, in their Abuja residence.
It would be recalled that about 19 people fell victim to kidnappers on January 2, at Sagwari Estate Layout in the Dutsen-Alhaji area, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
However, six girls from the Nabeeha family, alongside their father, Alhaji Monsoor Al-Kadriyar, were among the people who were abducted from the area.
Meanwhile, the abductors later released their father, to get Ransome, to release his daughters.
They later killed four of the victims, including one of Al-Kadriyar’s daughters, Nabeeha, a 400-level student of Biological Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a 13-year-old Folashade Ariyo.
While the remaining five sisters regained freedom from their abductors on Saturday, January 20, the Nigerian Police Force on Sunday, announced the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Bello Mohammed, a 28-year-old male, believed to have taken part in the abduction of Nabeeha and others.
However, Obi during his visit, said: “I came to have the opportunity of condoling the family and then see the young ones that are still in the hospital.
“It is for all of us to sacrifice everything possible to see that criminality is contained.
“Can you imagine how it feels for a father to lose a young daughter. Imagine Folashade’s family as well. Just imagine the trauma. Imagine what they are going through.
“The government and the people must work hard to stop this. It is a very sad situation, I don’t even know how to start commenting, because this is happening everyday. We can’t continue this way.”
