Armed police operatives were seen at the secretariat of Peoples Democratic Party, in Abia State on Thursday.
The policemen restricted movement in and out of the secretariat located at Finbars Road, Umuahia.
They were said to be working with “an order from above”.
The Publicity Secretary of Abia PDP, Fabian Nwankwo, said workers and officials of the party had been asked to observe one-day rest at home.
Meanwhile, an Edo State High Court has refused to grant an interim injunction seeking to restrain the PDP and its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, from allowing the ad hoc delegates that emerged from the party’s Ward Congresses to participate in the party’s primary election.
The action was instituted by one Mr. Eghe Adun, an old PDP member believed to be loyal to the South-South Vice Chairman of the PDP, Dan Orbih.
