Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has advocated for punishment for individuals who collect the Permanent Voter’s Card but fail to vote.
Sani made this call on his official X handle on Sunday, stating, “Heavy fine should be imposed for those who collected PVC but refused to vote.”
He believes this measure will address the issue of poor turnout on election days, adding, “That is the best way to address the problem of low voter turnout.”
