Reactions have trailed the announcement of Lagos-based pastor, Isaac Idahosa, as the choice of the running mate to New Nigeria Peoples Party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Premium Politics had reported that the NNPP on Thursday announced Idahosa as the running mate to Kano-based politician, Kwankwaso, to beat the final deadline by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Reacting, a former presidential aide and All Progressives Congress member, Bashir Ahmad, tweeted, “With Senator Kwankwaso’s choice of Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate, Nigerians now have plenty options available. Those who wish to vote based on ethnic and religious have their choice and those who want to vote on competency basis have also their choice. #NigeriaDecides!”
Other Nigerians on social media also expressed their opinion on the Kwankwaso-Idahosa ticket.
@J_mknite said, “The party (NNPP) that is preparing to collapse into APC before the general election.”
@VICVERSA stated, “I like Kwankwaso and his party but unfortunately, they have got little support nationwide. I wish he had supported Labour Party and Peter Obi so votes are not divided. Together, we all can eradicate APC and PDP forever. It’s not about the party, it’s about the personality.”
@onyaoche said, “If he (Kwankwaso) likes, he should use all the general overseers as his vice, even Kano state he won’t win. Peter Obi can fix Nigeria.”
Premium Politics had earlier reported that APC presidential candidate announced former Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate; Labour Party’s Peter Obi, picked Datti Baba-Ahmed; Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar selected Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
