Senator Manager picks Delta PDP gov form

The Senator representing Delta South senatorial district, James Manager, has obtained the Delta State governorship form of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The fifth-term senator has also begun consulting leaders in 25 local government areas of the state.

The Convener, Ebiowou Wene Ogbo International, Goddey Money, said this in a statement on Tuesday while seeking support for the high-ranking lawmaker.

He noted that Manager started as the state chairman of the PDP and played a key role in the victory of Chief James Ibori and was later appointed the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport.

According to the statement, Manager was also instrumental in the victory of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whose tenure ends next year.

“As a high ranking senator since 2003 representing Delta South senatorial district which is the only power base of the PDP having lost the other two senatorial seats to the opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress tells more of Sen James Manager unwavering, loyal and committed to the party.

“Sen. James Manager has since declared his intention to become the next governor of Delta State and has been consulting leaders and stakeholders also he has gone round the 25 LGA’s party executives and delegates that will vote in the party primaries, he was welcomed and cheered in each of the local governments with his entourage,” the statement read in part.

Money stated that in Bomadi, Burutu and Patani LGA’s the campaign was received favourably.

“Sen. James Manager areas of priority will include: Rural development, urban renewal, agriculture, youth empowerment, education, health and security,” he added.
