The former lawmaker represented Kaduna Central at the Senate, Senator Shehu Sani, has mocked former President Muhammadu Buhari, over the quick action displayed by President Bola Tinubu, in the immediate suspension of the minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.
Sani who commended Tinubu for the response to the yearnings of the people, calling for an immediate sacking of the minister, over the allegation of financial misappropriation, running to the tune of N585.189m, levelled against her, claimed that if it were to be Buhari, he would have kept promising to take action.
The minister has been accused of misappropriating N585,189 m, which was allegedly paid into an individual account in her ministry.
However, Premium Politics reports that Tinubu announced Ms Edu’s sack in a statement by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Monday.
Meanwhile, her suspension has been generating mixed reactions, especially among Nigerians on social media.
Reacting to the development via a post on his X (Twitter) handle, Sani lauded Tinubu’s swift response to the matter.
The social and political activist maintained that the former president might have reacted to the allegation, differently.
“This President has listened to the public and acted against his Minister. If it’s the former President he will just ASHUWA [assure] you,” Sani tweeted.
