Vice President Kashim Shettima has lost his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Abba Kormi.
This was made known by Shettima via a statement on his X handle on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
According to the statement, Hajia Kormi died in the early hours of Thursday, after a prolonged illness.
However, the deceased who died at the age of 69 years old, was scheduled to be buried by 4:00 pm on Thursday, in an Islamic way, at Shettimari, Lawan Bukar, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Hajia Kormi left behind five children, many step-children and grandchildren.

“The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, in the early hours of today, lost his stepmother, Hajja Hauwa Abba Kormi.
“Hajja Kormi who died after a prolonged illness at the age of 69, left behind five children, many stepchildren, and grandchildren.
“The Janaiza is scheduled for 4:00 pm today at Shettimari, Lawan Bukar, Maiduguri, Borno State.
“May the Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and admit her to Jannatul Firdaus.”
