Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the running mate choice of the party’s flag-bearer, Bola Tinubu, is a threat to the opposition.

Oshiomhole said this on Thursday when he appeared as a guest on TVC.

He added that the agitation by opposition parties against the choice of Kashim Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate proves it is the right decision.

The former Edo State governor described Tinubu-Shettima’s ticket as a balanced one.

The ex-president of the Nigeria Labour Congress said, “As far as I am concerned, this is a balanced ticket, balance in terms of competence, balance in terms of the antecedent of the Presidential candidate and the antecedent of the Vice-Presidential candidate.

“But you know that as they say, a tree that bears fruit is bound to attract stones. When I see leading opposition figures indirectly or directly commenting on this, I am convinced that the opposition party couldn’t have been worried about a ticket that is likely to suffer a defeat if they were not threatened by the bold decision that Asiwaju has made.

“I am convinced that the Vice-Presidential candidate is competent, is suitable and we should interrogate his background. and if we do so, we would see that Asiwaju couldn’t have made a better choice.”
