Vice President Kashim Shettima presided over the 146th session of the National Economic Council on Thursday at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting, which commenced at 12:06 p.m. in the Council Chamber, is expected to be the final NEC gathering for 2024.
Key items on the agenda included discussions on the progress made by states in establishing State Police as well as financial planning for the 2025 fiscal year.
State governors, several deputy governors, and key members of President Bola Tinubu’s economic team were in attendance to deliberate on these critical national issues.
The discussions are seen as pivotal to addressing pressing security challenges and ensuring sound economic planning for the coming year.
