The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Sokoto State, Honourable Isa Sadiq Acida, has expressed the party’s readiness for the forthcoming local government elections in September 2024.
Acida made this known while submitting lists of 23 local government candidates and 244 councillorship candidates to the Sokoto State Independent Electoral Commission.
He confirmed that the party’s primaries were conducted in the presence of the state electoral commission and security agencies, according to Nigerian Tribune.
The Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Aliyu Sulaiman, assured that the screening exercise, set to begin on August 7th, would be fair and transparent, with no victimization of candidates.
The commission’s role is to ensure that only qualified candidates are cleared to participate in the elections.
