The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, and Convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, has blasted the National Assembly lawmakers, and their political parties, over the alleged plan to purchase N58bn official vehicles.
Sowore who made this comment while reacting to the news that the lawmakers have concluded all arrangements to purchase their official vehicles, said they want to buy the vehicles in addition to the humongous allowances they earn monthly.
He noted that the “rulership is busy earning a maximum wage,” while Nigerian citizen is battling with hyperinflation and hardships.
The Human Rights activist further alleged that the wages paid to the common Nigerians remain meagre, while the National Assembly lawmakers who earn maximum wage, have decided to keep filtering away the national wealth.
However, Sowore bemoaned that unfortunately, the major
political parties in the country and their representatives have joined hands to defraud Nigerians.
“Nigerian citizens are battling with hyperinflation, hardships have spiralled out of control, wages remain meagre and the “rulership” is busy earning a maximum wage, the National Assembly @nassnigeria have decided to keep frittering away the national wealth, they are now to purchase luxury cars for themselves at the whopping cost of N58billion naira in addition to humongous monthly allowances, the most paramount is that all the so-called major political parties and their representatives are all in on the unconscionable pact to defraud Nigerians. #RevolutionNow,” Sowore tweeted.
