A former lawmaker in the Old Cross River State, Otuekong Thomas Akpan, has warned the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to stop insulting his predecessor, ex-governor Obong Victor Attah.
This came on the premise of the Senate President’s recent claim that the state never witnessed genuine development until he became governor.
The Deputy Leader, Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Consultative Forum, said, yesterday that the Senate President “openly insulted” Attah with that statement.
He urged Akpabio who had also served as Akwa Ibom State governor for two terms to refrain from insulting Attah to avoid dire consequence on his political career, according to Vanguard.
He said, “Let me on behalf of entire people of Akwa Ibom warn Akpabio to stop insulting Obong Attah, former governor and undisputed father of modern Akwa Ibom State.”
The lawmaker alleged that the real development Akwa Ibom witnessed during the administration of Akpabio was kidnapping and killing of people indiscriminately.
Recall that Akpabio took over from Obong Victor Attah as the governor of Akwa Ibom State.
