The Supreme Court on Friday declared Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party, the substantive governor of Delta State.
Oborevwori’s was declared winner after the Supreme Court dismissed all three appeals against his election for lack of merit.
Premium Politics had reported that the apex court will decide the fate of five governorship disputes today, January 19.
The apex court had earlier dismissed the appeal of the All progressives Congress and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, against Oborevwori’s election victory.
A five-member panel of the Supreme court in Gbagi’s case said that he and his party were unable to prove the election was conducted without substantial compliance with the relevant laws .
The apex court held that Oborevwori was qualified to contest the last governorship election in Delta State.
