The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, popularly called “Jandor”, has called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Ret’d.) to intervene in the acclaimed consistent attacks during his campaigns within the state.

Vanguard reported that, Jandor, speaking at a world press conference, held in Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos, called on the president and Inspector General of Police, Usman Akali Baba to intervene by living up to expectation.

He claimed the alleged series of attacks were by suspected hoodlums of the All Progressives Congress.

Jandor, however, emphasized that he “would not be intimidated by the attacks” and would go with his campaigns across the state as he had already covered over 100 wards.

Jandor’s most recent attack was by suspected political thugs on Wednesday, January 25, in Kosofe area of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that there was another attack on his campaign team on Tuesday, January 24, as well, in the same council by hoodlums.

Similar attacks had happened in Badagry, Agege and Ikorodu areas since Jandor kicked off his tour of the 245 wards in the state on Oct. 19, 2022, in which some of his supporters and journalists were wounded.

It would be recalled that his running mate, Funke Akindele, was also chased out of the Kosofe fruit market on Tuesday.

Speaking on the development, the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, said the trend has been happening for a very long time, and “this is probably the fourth or fifth local government this will be happening.”
