President Bola Tinubu and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, among other prominent people in the society, will grace the unveiling of Peace in the South East Project.
This was disclosed by the Chairperson, of the Media and Communications Committee of PISE-P, Mary Ikoku, in a statement made available to newsmen in Umuahia, on Wednesday.
Ikoku made it known that the unveiling ceremony would occur simultaneously with the grand reception, organised in honour of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
According to her, other prominent Nigerians who will also grace the unveiling ceremony include; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and members of both chambers of the National Assembly.
Other dignitaries from the private sector are business magnates Aliko Dangote and Chief Arthur Eze, media moguls and politicians across party lines, amongst others.
Also, the royal fathers of the day expected at the occasion, are the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, and Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, together with members of the Abia Council of Traditional Rulers.
Ikoku further revealed that the event, organised by PISE-P, in conjunction with the people of Bende Local Council, and Kalu’s constituents, will be held at the Sports Arena in the council’s headquarters.
According to her, PISE-Piss is a non-partisan advocacy organisation working toward the restoration of peace in the South East through a non-kinetic approach.
However, Ikoku further explained that the ceremony is organised to appreciate Kalu’s “unwavering commitment to public service and outstanding contributions to the people of the South East and nation in general.”
