Tinubu aware Nigerians are suffering – Orji Kalu

Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has come to President Bola Tinubu’s defense, stating that he is fully aware of the hardships faced by Nigerians and is working to ensure citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.

In an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Kalu dismissed claims that Tinubu is out of touch with the struggles of Nigerians. He described Tinubu as a courageous leader who understands the people’s plight.

Kalu highlighted Tinubu’s willingness to engage with Nigerians, citing his nighttime visits to the Federal Capital Territory. This, according to Kalu, demonstrates Tinubu’s connection to the people and commitment to addressing their concerns.

Regarding his own relationship with Tinubu, Kalu clarified that he never had any issues with the president. He recounted how he withdrew his Senate President ambition at Tinubu’s request but still exercised his right to vote for Senator Abdulaziz Yari.

Kalu’s defense of Tinubu aims to showcase the president’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges and promoting democracy. By speaking out, Kalu seeks to reassure Nigerians that Tinubu is working in their best interests.

The development comes as Nigerians continue to navigate economic and social challenges. Kalu’s statement is likely to spark further debate on Tinubu’s leadership and his ability to deliver on campaign promises.

“The President is aware Nigerians are hungry, he knows Nigerians are suffering; he is a street person, he knows the street very well, he visits the FCT, he is not a president that is locked up in a room, whether kidnapping or not, he moves around in his car at night, he is very courageous,” Senator Orji Kalu said.
