President Bola Tinubu has launched the first set of Compressed Natural Gas buses at the Presidential Villa, marking a significant step towards improving transportation in the Federal Capital Territory.
The initial batch of 20 buses, manufactured by Innoson Motors, is part of the government’s effort to address the demands of the organized Labour movement following the fuel subsidy removal, according to Daily Post.
The CNG buses offer a cost-effective, safer, and more environmentally friendly alternative for mass transit.
The government is optimistic that this initiative will help ease transportation challenges in Abuja.
The commissioning ceremony took place during the Federal Executive Council meeting, with President Tinubu taking a brief break to inspect the buses.
This development highlights the administration’s commitment to promoting local content and innovative solutions to Nigeria’s transportation needs.
