Tinubu honours literary icon Chinua Achebe with road naming

President Bola Tinubu has honored renowned novelist and poet, Chinua Achebe, by naming the M18 road in the Guzape district of Abuja after him.

The president made this announcement during the road’s inauguration on Saturday.

This gesture recognizes Achebe’s immense contribution to Nigerian literature and cultural heritage, according to Nigerian Tribune.

The celebrated author is best known for his novel “Things Fall Apart,” which has become a classic of modern African literature.

By naming the road after Achebe, President Tinubu acknowledges the lasting impact of the literary icon on the country’s cultural landscape.

The Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, shared this information in a post, highlighting the significance of the tribute to Achebe, who is celebrated for his contributions to literature and African cultural heritage.

He wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Commissions the M18 road infrastructure in Guzape District of Abuja. Names road after Nigerian Novelist and Poet, late Professor Chinua Achebe.”
