President Bola Tinubu has postponed the Federal Executive Council meeting that was scheduled for Monday, opting instead for a closed-door meeting with security and paramilitary leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The emergency meeting, led by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, includes service chiefs and other top military and paramilitary officials. Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun are also present.
This meeting comes amid nationwide protests driven by concerns over hunger and poor governance. The protests have intensified across the country, leading to widespread unrest.
