All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has announced former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, as running mate.
Tinubu made the announcement in Daura, Katsina State on Sunday after a closed-door meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
The former Lagos State governor was in Daura to pay Sallah homage to Buhari and informed him of his decision to pick Shettima.
Tinubu defied the warnings of bodies like the Christian Association of Nigeria to pick a Muslim running mate despite being a Muslim himself.
Shettima was born on September 2nd, 1966 and he is a serving senator representing Borno Central.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maiduguri in Agricultural Economics and a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan.
Shettima was a banker before he joined active politics.
He is married to Nana Shettima and they have three children: two females and a male.
